Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ)

Can a non-literate believer become a mature Christian and lead a church?
The Bible is made up primarily of stories. It is God’s wisdom expressing itself largely through narratives. In fact, 75% of the Bible is narrative. This is a vast amount of material devoted to stories that can help a non-literate Christian to become mature in Christ and even lead others. Acts 4: 1- 14

Yes. Unlike the literate, an oral communicator uses the methods of Listening, Repetition, Narrative, Event & Community oriented, Memorization, Holistic and Stories, Drama& Music to transfer knowledge/information.

Why is the use of the local language important in planting of a truly indigenous church?
Since the tower of Babel, God in His great wisdom, divided man by multitude of languages and Cultures. Using the local language will make the people feel and accept their ethnic identity that their language is valuable in God’s sight. They will believe, they speak a valid and authentic language which is understood by God. Also they will accept God as their God and not regard Him as a foreign God or the white man’s God. Acts 14: 10 – 18 & 17: 19 – 26

Why are churches planted in the villages not growing?
Church planting is like planting corn and for them to grow they must go through the process. You cannot plant, harvest and get bread from corn the same day. It has to go through the process and as such Evangelism and Church planting must go through the step by step process. Failure to follow the process leads to weak/dying/unreproducting churches.
